Taking an experimental approach to goal setting
In 2023, I was 3 months into a very unstructured and well-needed career break. (You can read more about that break here). Approaching January 2024, I was ready to put a plan in place to make the most of the time away from corporate life. The aim was to create goals that would allow me to explore, test and discover what was most important to me.
I set myself goals that would push me to go bigger in the areas that were most important for the year ahead - Focused on fulfilment, joy and longevity.
Here's what I learned - The goals that stuck, were powered by a strong why, and a clear plan. Also, it was really fun and informative to try new things. Ultimately, they were the goals that were most important and have changed my trajectory and perspective. All of the other goals I had on the long list became nice to haves, instead of core goals. (as you can see below, the long list is long)
Coming into 2025, many of my 2024 goals had become non-negotiables in my life. This makes space to bring in new goals and go bigger with how I live my life. I am excited to see what adventures this year will bring. Stay tuned for updates on how 2025 goes!
I am excited to report back at the end of 2025 with my next update on the always evolving mission to find balance, joy & fulfilment!
