Everything you need to know about the power of coaching.

✺ What is coaching? (& what it isn’t?)

  • As your coach, my role is to provide you with the tools and fuel you need during moments of change.

Change is an inevitable part of life, whether chosen or it happens to you. Change brings a complex mix of emotions. In these moments, you might feel powerless, overwhelmed, stuck, lost, excited, or nervous. Please know that all emotions are welcome in coaching.

The coach's fundamental role is to be fully present with you and create a safe, non-judgmental space. As a coach, I will help you:

    • See all options available to you, even when you feel stuck.

    • Listen deeply to your intuition and inner wisdom.

    • Get clear on what you need right now.

    • Nudge you to take small, intentional steps in the direction you want to go.

Coaching is the essential support you need to navigate transition and harness your power.

  • I am passionate about being the coach to others that I wish I had, during hard moments in my life. I work with people who are 1) navigating a change in their lives and 2) ready to take control of what happens next.

People come to me at a moment of change or reflection. Finding a coach to support you through pivotal moments in your life, will completely transform your experience & outcome.

    Typical moments of change include:

    • Career Shifts: Whether you're planning a promotion, executing a total career change, or starting a new role with confidence.

    • Company Chaos: Navigating the impacts of redundancy, or dealing with major changes in company/leadership dynamics.

    • Burnout & Recovery: Finding a path forward after reaching burnout, and intentionally exploring what comes next.

    • Time Away from Work: Managing the transition around extended leave (maternity, paternity, or bereavement).

People come to me for coaching when they reach a point of feeling overwhelmed, frozen, stuck or lost. No matter what brings you to coaching, I promise, you will leave feeling a new sense of confidence, conviction & clarity.

  • Great question! There is a clear role for coaching and therapy (and a big grey are in the middle)

A great way to think about it is starting with this saying "Coaching gets you fit but, it won't fix a broken limb".

There are 3 key elements that make coaching distinct:

    1. Focus on What’s Next. Coaching focuses on understanding where you are today and looking forward to what’s possible. We concentrate on building a path toward future goals and potential, whereas therapy typically looks backward to heal and resolve past issues.

    2. Focus on Action and Potential. Coaching is designed to provide you with the tools and fuel needed to take decisive action and live to your maximum potential. It focuses primarily on goal achievement and development, over clinical healing.

    3. Focus on Skills vs. Healing. While clients often gain significant healing benefits (e.g., increased confidence and reduced stress) in coaching, the core objective is always to equip you with forward-looking skills and strategies to thrive.

Note: As a qualified coach, I am ethically bound to work with you on your forward momentum, and will refer you to a licensed therapist if the core need is to resolve past trauma or emotional distress.

  • When Your Plate is Full, That's When Coaching Works Best.

I get it: when your plate is full, adding another thing to your schedule can feel completely counterintuitive. However, this is precisely the moment you will experience the greatest impact from an investment in coaching.

As your coach, I don't want you to show up perfect and polished. The more chaos, the better. My job is to get in there with you, create the space you need, and work with you to untangle the genuine challenges of life.

There's a famous concept in coaching: "If there is no problem, there is no coaching."

Your next step is simple: Set up a free consultation call and let me guide you from there.

✺ What are the logistics of coaching? ✺

  • Every coaching session follows a deliberate three-stage process designed to maximize your growth and ensure accountability:

    1. For the first 10% we "design our alliance", this means, we check in on what we need to make this session productive e.g. Full confidentiality, phones away, a potential interruption for the client to grab a delivery, a head ache etc.

    2. The next 80% is the core of the coaching session. In this time, we start with the challenge the client brings and from there, we explore expansively using embodiment, trying out different perspectives, emotional processing. The coach will lead the client to where they feel they will get the biggest value, while always respecting a clients agenda and boundaries.

    3. The final 10% is about accountability, your homework. The coach will set the client a challenge to take out of the session. The purpose of this is to bring your learnings into your life and share learnings (and failures) back in the next session to deepen your learnings. I will always close asking you for one takeaway, to bring all learnings together.

As the coach, I will keep time and make sure that we follow this flow so you don’t need to worry.

As the client, your role is to make sure the session is as impactful for you as possible by showing up with presence, sharing what you want from the session, committing to your homework.

  • You don’t have to bring anything specifically, unless you get a message in advance.

A coaching session is your time. I would encourage you to bring anything that sets the right mood for you.

Some ideas from other clients include:

    • A nice hot drink

    • A notebook and pen

    • A cosy blanket or socks

    • A fidget toy

It is your time. You get to set the mood!

Note: You may be asked to get up and move around during the session. You can always say no if that does not feel comfortable!

  • My coaching sessions are typically 60 minutes for 1:1 and group coaching.

For corporates, I also offer shorter coaching spotlights. 20-30 minute coaching moments can be impactful, when used at the right moments. I will always recommend the format of coaching I believe will be the most impactful.

My coaching programs, both 1:1 and group are built around 6 coaching sessions. A 6-session coaching program is the optimum length to allow space for deep learning, reflection and planning.

Many clients go on to transition into a longer coaching program, once they complete this first 6-session coaching program. For others, this 6 session program, was just what they needed and they are ready to take on change with confidence and clarity.

  • Both! I can adjust to your needs and I am happy to make a recommendation if that is helpful.

I regularly hold sessions in person and also, online (usually via Google Meet).

After leading global teams for 15+ years, I am very experienced in creating productive and safe environments, both virtually and in person.

✺ What results can I expect from coaching? ✺

  • My clients complete their coaching program and are noticeably changed in their mindset or life. My clients share that they leave feeling a new sense of confidence, conviction & clarity.

A client testimonial helps to bring the impact of my coaching to life:

“I’ve been so busy that I kind of lost sight of what it was all for. Lindsay’s coaching program helped me to pause and dig deeper into my values and set big but completely achievable goals. The time spent here felt like purely an investment in myself, which is something we don’t do enough of! I feel so much lighter.“

  • Coaching is a two way partnership. As the client, you will get the greatest impact by showing up invested and fearless.

What does that mean? Share when something is not working for you, giving your homework the time it needs, sharing any shifts happening in your goals or your circumstances etc.

The 30-minute free consultation call is a critical step to ensure that both parties are committed and feel that they are a good match to work together and achieve the greatest impact.

This is a safe space for you to explore a potential partnership. You should never feel any commitment from this call.

  • Life happens. I get it and try to be as accommodating as possible. Once you join as a client, my mobile will be open to you as the fastest way to get in touch.

Ideally, I ask my clients to give me 48-hours to postpone a session, as a courtesy.

I have a 24- hour cancellation policy in my terms. Any notice less than 24 hours, will be charged as a full session.

  • You can find a range of testimonials from my clients across my website, my LinkedIn and Instagram profiles and my Google reviews. Below is a snapshot of some feedback from my clients:

    • “Lindsay's group coaching sessions as part of the Big Life Project really stood to me. I was nervous about coaching but Lindsay makes you feel at ease straight away. I found myself looking forward to the sessions and what I've learned about myself and how it has helped me has been eye-opening. If you want to help yourself, let Lindsay help you! The other people in the group were so supportive also and I'm so glad I did this. After the sessions, I had a much clearer view of what I wanted and more importantly (to me) what I didn't want. Coaching gave me clarity and confidence to not settle and go for what I want. I now have a new role in which I feel happier, positively challenged and excited to be taking on! “

      • Client navigating a career move

    • "Lindsay is transformational. She asks you the questions you didn't know you needed, pushes you beyond your (often self-imposed) limits, and is a whole lot of fun to be around."

      • Co - Founder & CEO navigating challenges of business growth

    • "I started coaching about 6 months ago to get perspective and insight on complex topics that I had on my mind for some time and make decisive choices in a structured setting. With Lindsay, I got all that and so much more. She brings an invaluable real-world pragmatism, from her brilliant career, as well as an empathetic, friendly and even fun holistic lens. Whether it is building roadmaps or unpacking sensitive issues - I fully recommend her, no matter where on "the path" you may feel."

      • Client seeking balance of competing priorities

    • I couldn't recommend Lindsay more highly for anyone at a career crossroads, low on confidence, or feeling like they need some guidance on the way ahead. I did 6 individual coaching sessions with Lindsay, and the difference in my self-understanding since working with her is night-and-day. Lindsay helped me to figure out my core values and understand how these flow down into different aspects of my day-to-day life - giving me actionable insights into exactly what wasn't working for me in my current role, and what I need in order to do my best work. I was at a point of real confusion when I first came to Lindsay, but thanks to her I now have a framework to understand myself and my career. Lindsay is exactly what you would want in a coach; supportive, nurturing, challenging, a fantastic listener and reader of body-language, clear and insightful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone facing similar challenges.”

✺ What is the cost of coaching? ✺

  • Ready to take the first step? Book your free 30-minute consultation call. This consultation is completely without obligation!

It is important to me to first understand your need before proposing what I believe will create the greatest impact.

For most people, a 6×60 minute coaching session program is usually recommended for lasting change. However, there are times where a shorter coaching program or even, a one-off laser coaching session is what you need!

We can discuss pricing on the call and perhaps any options for your employer to fund your coaching, as let’s be real, they will reap the benefits too!

  • The 6-week Shape Your Future program costs €600.

This program includes 4×60 minute group coaching sessions, 2×60 minute 1:1 coaching sessions, actionable weekly exercises and a bonus welcome pack delivered to add some creative sparkle to your learning.

This program is ~50% cheaper than my 1:1 coaching packages and no less impactful.

From my experience running group coaching, people benefit from a group coaching program if....

    • You are craving more meaningful human connection

    • You thrive in the structure and accountability of a program

    • You have limited budget and want to take control today

    • You are coaching curious and want to give it a try

Shape Your Future coaching groups are limited to between 3-6 participants to create the optimum learning experience. Sign up for a free 30-minute consultation to explore how this program might fit for you.

Note: You may have an option to have coaching covered by your employer or health insurer. It is always worth exploring!

  • Good on you for identifying that it is a time when you need coaching! As I always say “You always have a choice”!

Here are a few options for you to explore:

    1. Access a ‘free’ coaching session with me - If you have been a client of mine and you refer someone to me who signs up, you get a free bonus 60 minute coaching session. This is my thank you to you for supporting my business. Previous clients have found this bonus session really helpful to use at a moment when they need a boost of confidence of clarity.

    2. Negotiate a coaching package when starting a new role - Yes, it actually works! For a company, it is a one off cost and I have worked with many people whose future employers were open to this investment. You can find a blog with tips and tricks on this topic in my Blog section. Give it a try and worst case you are showing your future employer that you are in control of your development.

    3. Explore what coaching is on offer in your company - Many companies reserve coaching for specific cohorts or development programs. Ask the questions to identify what is open to you. Get proactive and express your interest in coaching. Ask for budget to cover coaching to support you in a moment of change. If you don’t ask, you will never know :)

    4. Find lower cost coaching options - Every coach in training has to complete coaching hours, some pro-bono and some at a reduced cost. Many of these coaches have extensive experience and will offer you excellent support. Drop me a message if you would like some suggestions on where to find a lower cost coaching option.

    5. Check your health insurance - There are some insurance policies that cover a % of your coaching costs. Make the most of your insurance and get your claim in!

I love the idea that “done is better than perfect” so if you are ready for coaching, there is always a way to make it work. Get in touch at hello@thebiglifeproject.ie and I am happy to suggest options for you.

    • Program Format: The type of offering (e.g., a one-time 60-minute virtual workshop versus a multi-session team coaching engagement).

    • Scale: The total number of participants or teams involved.

    • I am a member of the International Coaching Federation.

    • I am in the process of sitting my final exam to become ICF ACC accredited.

  • For 20+ years, I had a thriving career working on the leading edge of data & analytics. I worked my way from analyst to Global Director of Analytics at LinkedIn over 10 years.

Whatever the challenge, if it was scary, I always said "yes" and figured out how to do it later!

In my professional life, I am known for hiring and growing thriving teams, getting straight to the heart of challenges to drive impact, being the no-nonsense voice at leadership tables, coaching & mentoring 100s of people to shine in their careers, speaking at company & client events, with audiences of up to 3k, to demystify the power and potential of analytics.

Business booms, decisions flow and employees thrive. I am best know for creating this dynamic.

  • As a Co-Active coach, I adhere strictly to the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Code of Ethics, which mandates complete confidentiality regarding all content of our coaching sessions.

Your privacy is paramount, and nothing you share will be disclosed to a third party without your explicit permission, unless required by law.

  • When you sign up for coaching, you are entirely in control of the process. Our intake procedure is specifically designed to ensure you establish a strong, trusting, and effective connection with your coach from day one.

If you are feeling uncertain about making that commitment, here are a few tips:

    • Test Chemistry Before Signing Up: This is the precise purpose of the free consultation call. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of this by scheduling 2-3 exploratory calls with different coaches to find the approach and personality that aligns best with your needs right now.

    • Share How You Are Feeling: A coaching session is your dedicated time as the client. If something isn't working—whether it's the pace, the focus, or the dynamic—share it directly with your coach. The coach's role is to make the sessions as productive as possible for you, and they will genuinely appreciate you raising concerns up front.

Remember, the right fit is crucial for success, and you have the power to choose what works best for you.
